Monkey

I’ve always been fascinated by monkeys and have collected monkey memorabilia for as long as I can remember. Monkeys featured regularly in Victorian art and were fashionable Victorian pets. ZOOH commissioned Spanish based British artist, Holly Alp, to paint a beautiful Victorian style monkey. I wanted to take our monkey out of stuffy Victorian Britain and give it a bright environment to frolic in. I hope you love our Monkey range as much as I do.

Paper Bird Man

ZOOH has been working with The Paper Bird Man for several years.

His art is inspired by the “ordinary” birds that are around us all the time but are frequently forgotten and ignored. Birds are able to fly, a freedom that we can only dream about. Sometimes I want to capture the freedom they have and to put it in a cage, to make it mine. I find the contrast between freedom and entrapment quite shocking. Each bird is unique. The bodies are made of wire and waste newspaper. The “feathers” are made from magazines, images, patterns and sometimes words. The cages are made from chicken wire.
